I accumulate a lot of fabric scraps, and so I'm always trying to think of what best to use them for. When making my handbags I end up with skinny strips so what better way to put them to good use than to make some new notepad covers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8gkUO7QUZLTrEWIv_A6RgHSaM2rx36niZvGGCW1E22nIMhUzAFULEhrigJquY13BEncqpRAYl49kenu4c7Rkwx-4ywl6lRqfxLjKRUjSXzbUBqJSMUdubBdgQ5WI0zvf_dWv48FU_ziA/s1600/DSCF1209.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="291" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8gkUO7QUZLTrEWIv_A6RgHSaM2rx36niZvGGCW1E22nIMhUzAFULEhrigJquY13BEncqpRAYl49kenu4c7Rkwx-4ywl6lRqfxLjKRUjSXzbUBqJSMUdubBdgQ5WI0zvf_dWv48FU_ziA/s320/DSCF1209.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I had already made some for the kids, who are already on week 3 of the summer holidays. You can easily sew up all your scraps, no matter how small, to cover a notebook. I'm hoping to get a little 'me' time during the holidays to write an easy tutorial for these covers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5Sb0zaG6Sp2vP5KRa0fi2JW822OGdxMtKolSnqmupKnUJtJce3iImkCJcWOty9gp6JJKhyOZmAGc_KmFGy6S9rMNUJ2EKQW_w7Sl3B9dMAIcIQEjdSdwkmNgA1c2DCZM4Zk1GFgvYKFI/s1600/DSCF1205.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="209" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5Sb0zaG6Sp2vP5KRa0fi2JW822OGdxMtKolSnqmupKnUJtJce3iImkCJcWOty9gp6JJKhyOZmAGc_KmFGy6S9rMNUJ2EKQW_w7Sl3B9dMAIcIQEjdSdwkmNgA1c2DCZM4Zk1GFgvYKFI/s320/DSCF1205.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Meanwhile if you don't fancy making these, they are available to purchase <a href="http://www.maricesworld.folksy.com/" target="_blank">here</a>.</div>

How cute is this wee guy? I was asked by a friend, who works at a local hotel, to make a rucksack for their Teddy. It has to hold a notepad and pen, with the intention that the Teddy will spend the day with a young guest and any adventures can be noted in the pad.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhEmB8RFn8QnHe9mkSuAzq8IGIDkaSFOZhvboVmSwYXbXKbAJdt5j5htefnDEv2Ra4jnzELECJ2E7FFNOLyXPKR5Y2WgauWHJYLjQrhzg2AFIildiLCeRgS6Ke6FGgGGxUMneXnu_yBxY/s1600/DSCF1090.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhEmB8RFn8QnHe9mkSuAzq8IGIDkaSFOZhvboVmSwYXbXKbAJdt5j5htefnDEv2Ra4jnzELECJ2E7FFNOLyXPKR5Y2WgauWHJYLjQrhzg2AFIildiLCeRgS6Ke6FGgGGxUMneXnu_yBxY/s320/DSCF1090.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Although essentially I was still making a bag, which I make rather a lot of, it was a refreshing change to come up with a new design, and figure out how best to put it together. With the rucksack being a far smaller scale it's more fiddly than the size of handbags I usually sew.</div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PYKUr3BdkZA/UAWT33nsVdI/AAAAAAAAArA/J3eiFYueCj4/s1600/DSCF1083.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PYKUr3BdkZA/UAWT33nsVdI/AAAAAAAAArA/J3eiFYueCj4/s320/DSCF1083.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EjdFMd4Ip_Y/UAWUhTlL71I/AAAAAAAAArU/tlqkJAiwKEA/s1600/DSCF1084.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EjdFMd4Ip_Y/UAWUhTlL71I/AAAAAAAAArU/tlqkJAiwKEA/s320/DSCF1084.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And it was no surprise to me that after Master and Miss World saw the rucksack, I'm having to make another couple. Just as well I made a template!!</div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EXQK4suLOqM/UAWUGMPOQQI/AAAAAAAAArM/3Uuohj2a5hs/s1600/DSCF1093.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EXQK4suLOqM/UAWUGMPOQQI/AAAAAAAAArM/3Uuohj2a5hs/s320/DSCF1093.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

<br /></div>maricesworldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04281289662049345853noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3221154865415072506.post-38988627062567615122012-03-14T08:13:00.001+00:002012-03-14T08:13:49.354+00:00<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I've set myself a Challenge to inject some 'Spring' into my home and to make the household chores a bit, well, cheerier. The plan is to make new cushions and a pair of curtain tie backs for the living room. A new apron for when I have my Chef hat on. A peg bag to make me smile while hanging out the washing and lastly, and probably most challenging is a wall hanging for the utility room. I've wanted to create a wall hanging for some time now and just don't know where or how to start. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ucMiSgGYqcU/T2BLcA5b7bI/AAAAAAAAAqM/fEtnakvVUXI/s1600/Spring+Cushion3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ucMiSgGYqcU/T2BLcA5b7bI/AAAAAAAAAqM/fEtnakvVUXI/s320/Spring+Cushion3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: justify;">Oh and most importantly I do NOT want to buy anything new just simply use up what supplies I have, including those pieces that I love which I seem to be holding onto? - for what reason? I haven't figured out yet.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V-YUDBdAykI/T2BL2DTCQmI/AAAAAAAAAqk/9eBdf6b5hb0/s1600/spring+cushion4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V-YUDBdAykI/T2BL2DTCQmI/AAAAAAAAAqk/9eBdf6b5hb0/s320/spring+cushion4.jpg" width="304" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now where to start? I dug out a panel by Wendy Bentley for Timeless Treasures and decided in using this for my cushion. I didn't use a pattern, just kept adding bits of fabric on until I had (roughly) a 16" square</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSEZeVP6VkpRYYUkdcj6nRnrmE7NxH676AyqFfp3GSyxM2JFw-ypTmpAWZt_uhTEIfcPleWHZ9qaXpa8By-lqCCnCqxotyYKx-o672ugvYH72bWMMSFqEB3VQWRTfwEaiJWyAUOf0Aqws/s1600/Spring+Cushion.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSEZeVP6VkpRYYUkdcj6nRnrmE7NxH676AyqFfp3GSyxM2JFw-ypTmpAWZt_uhTEIfcPleWHZ9qaXpa8By-lqCCnCqxotyYKx-o672ugvYH72bWMMSFqEB3VQWRTfwEaiJWyAUOf0Aqws/s320/Spring+Cushion.jpg" width="318" /></a></div>
<span style="text-align: justify;">And here's my finished cushion. Being a bit of a rebel I love bright clashing colours. I remember from when I was little, my Mum saying "Red and Green should never be seen". ... I'm so chuffed with the end result that I'm happily throwing the rule book out the window.</span><br />

I've finally stepped up a gear, I really don't know where the imaginary force field that sometimes holds me back comes from? Most of the time I'm very organised, (Mr World may disagree here) other times I just drift along willy-nilly in Marice's World. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFvonCHd3xWHBEIw005pFyErA5gsPWRsjXQOiyVj02vm48ZyFgxCs9WzLgxv5it_MjIqd0tH2-3oLPmrNIne2TFqtFkMJroOxI7o0nGNFzZaF94Np2a7WoGP1MShwVoyEx-nGizJpz_6w/s1600/tweedstars1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="188" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFvonCHd3xWHBEIw005pFyErA5gsPWRsjXQOiyVj02vm48ZyFgxCs9WzLgxv5it_MjIqd0tH2-3oLPmrNIne2TFqtFkMJroOxI7o0nGNFzZaF94Np2a7WoGP1MShwVoyEx-nGizJpz_6w/s320/tweedstars1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am most definitely a morning person but I tend to switch on the tele for the news and get far too distracted, if there's a newspaper or better still one of my crafty magazines lying around, I'll flick through it and time just disappears. </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This week I've been creeping down to my work space (which is still under the stairs but not for long!) and making the most out of the quiet time before Miss and Master World arise from their slumber. Now that I'm writing this I know what is helping, it is having a clear idea of what I'll be creating tomorrow. At bedtime I come up with a plan of what to make the next morning and visualise, <i>even dream</i>, about doing it!</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEm6Xrnd_UHaLUj7shozpCdeqzWV7EFQ9R_1RPXKQ8ocWOtKKkZFTXtOeLCsLsIow4AESPkKWCgKyiUxroxs7A0qQLvo7unya05XUKURDMtTTrDeHjzoxkYLodCJG2q4h6I4oBTtv28-o/s1600/tweedstars.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="197" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEm6Xrnd_UHaLUj7shozpCdeqzWV7EFQ9R_1RPXKQ8ocWOtKKkZFTXtOeLCsLsIow4AESPkKWCgKyiUxroxs7A0qQLvo7unya05XUKURDMtTTrDeHjzoxkYLodCJG2q4h6I4oBTtv28-o/s320/tweedstars.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm amazed at just how much I manage to accomplish in this quiet hour. I've already doubled my production rate, which on paper seems impossible. Secretly, I like to think time must stand still when it's still dark outside. So <b>three cheers</b> for the winter, productive mornings and cosy nights. ;0)</div>

Earlier this year I decided to stop drinking coffee. Now I know there have been numerous debates as to whether caffeine is either good or bad for you. New research from an Oslo University concluded that reducing your intake can lower the risk of heart disease and strokes. I guess most of us find comfort in a cup of coffee, especially as the winter months creep in. It's also an everyday social activity ... meeting for a coffee, inviting neighbours / friends round for a cup. My reasoning was that the dark circles under my eyes weren't going away, and my energy levels, if I'm honest weren't great either. Okay hands up here though... I have to admit I do burn the candle at both ends though not through partying, those days are well past me, it's from taking on too much and not saying 'No'. I'm betting the majority of you can recognise yourself there too. </div>
<div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="270" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tSs5kPA75VM/TqblaBQM5zI/AAAAAAAAAms/NEU8XCYF55I/s320/DSC02524.JPG" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="320" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.folksy.com/items/2400493">Turquoise Coasters</a></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As I got busier and busier, I'd drink more coffee. My thinking was I'll stop for a coffee break, breaks are good for you, recharge the batteries etc etc although I never did stop, I just kept sipping on the go. Lunch times wouldn't happen, because now I <i>really</i> was too busy to stop, in a few hours the kids would be home from school, I'd want to spend a little time with them, whilst having yet another cuppa, before going into the kitchen to prepare dinner, and my 'things to do list' just seems to grow out of nowhere.</div>
<div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Something had to change, I'm creature of habit and although I am aware of the health benefits of drinking more water, especially as an asthmatic needing to keep hydrated, it really didn't appeal to me. I went for it, drank more water but I felt there was something missing. I missed the comfort of holding a hot mug, so I turned to herbal teas. Having tried lots of different flavours, it came as no surprise to me that I like the berry flavours the best. At this time of year I'm drinking herbal tea with Echinacea, to decrease the odds of developing a cold this winter. Having made the switch from coffee to decaf, and finally to herbal teas and water I felt my energy levels increase, and really quickly. I didn't have to wait weeks for a result, thank goodness, or I would probably have given up! Have the dark circles disappeared? Well not completely but there's definitely a vast improvement, it can only keep getting better.</div>

In the summer I made a little wallet to carry my teabags in, as most of the varieties I was buying weren't packaged in their own little envelope, like the posh ones do. A few of my lovely friends were intrigued with my little tea wallet and yes, I made them some too.</div>

They have been selling as soon as they've had their final stitch. <br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6mgKDegLrRIlYYihWGA5APYrd0RrNQ335PcjG5eBOraN7ubKziKjsth_bmuLi-S5P3xF0dhqX4A3ZsVq1HuGI1XQuMH6H-blT_BqtYZBJzxL7TMfNJafJVxd49qv2AXnUTfBhWr9htYo/s1600/dichroic+glass+pendant.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6mgKDegLrRIlYYihWGA5APYrd0RrNQ335PcjG5eBOraN7ubKziKjsth_bmuLi-S5P3xF0dhqX4A3ZsVq1HuGI1XQuMH6H-blT_BqtYZBJzxL7TMfNJafJVxd49qv2AXnUTfBhWr9htYo/s320/dichroic+glass+pendant.JPG" width="221" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Dichroic Glass Pendant</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Desperate to get back into the flow of creativity I was very fortunate to find <a href="http://www.spanglefish.com/speedcrafting/">Speedcrafting</a>. The exquisite Joni and Kev from <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hung-Inverness/205325119477900">Hung</a>, put together an exciting collection of crafts to experiment with. I've dabbled in dichroic glass, lino printing, braiding, appliqué and fantasy film, to name a few. Having never worked with glass before I have to say it was my favourite.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkUT9pWuWaeGr25pTKAtDln3vSZ2NZKGjnynpjdC0ZowFEv2tA_vqkSAeyJJPUZtPCKzDpmLudxs1u3hFM85ONy7VpPOi0Goi0D6M7fAq0GjXeZSm7uNrERl7tXNMBmv_3cu9j2Gs1OwE/s1600/braided+cufflet.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkUT9pWuWaeGr25pTKAtDln3vSZ2NZKGjnynpjdC0ZowFEv2tA_vqkSAeyJJPUZtPCKzDpmLudxs1u3hFM85ONy7VpPOi0Goi0D6M7fAq0GjXeZSm7uNrERl7tXNMBmv_3cu9j2Gs1OwE/s320/braided+cufflet.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Braided Cufflet</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Since the beginning of the year I've been saving up for a kiln, just a small one, for pure curiosity and to broaden my creative horizons. However, since joining in the Speedcrafting fun, Joni has introduced me to an alternative option. It's called the HotPot, it's for fusing glass and you put in the microwave!! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
Knitted Art</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Picking up a set of knitting needles brought back memories from school. I surprised myself that I was able to cast on without knowing what i was doing, it just happened without me thinking and before I knew it I was clicking away with the needles. It was really interesting trying different sized needles and wool, even managed a bit of Purl too.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Recycled Plastic Bracelet</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My bracelet was made out of an old milk bottle, and despite what you may think, the edge of the discs are not at all sharp, a great idea for kids to make.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1JUHhiRiusdsKqrLykMkFreNm7fir5V2RFysknB9_2mEdnH4nbHnHMJ9_ql0yhpkSiLaFEHKJl5roc9MgQ3MnZhIMeIy9hKgH9SleI9Zzfgz8f6PSyCQZgrhD8dnb_3OBMxr1otlsqkA/s1600/recycled+scarf+necklace.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1JUHhiRiusdsKqrLykMkFreNm7fir5V2RFysknB9_2mEdnH4nbHnHMJ9_ql0yhpkSiLaFEHKJl5roc9MgQ3MnZhIMeIy9hKgH9SleI9Zzfgz8f6PSyCQZgrhD8dnb_3OBMxr1otlsqkA/s320/recycled+scarf+necklace.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Recycled scarf / necklace</div>
Last but certainly not least is the necklace made from an old t-shirt. Although I learnt lots of new techniques on the day, I had no idea that when you cut a t-shirt into strips and stretch them, the t-shirt becomes tubular - if that's the right way to describe it? I was amazed at how effective it is.<br />
<br />
So having tried some new crafts, did I get my crafting mojo back? ... I certainly did ... back to sewing and making, aah now that feels better. Onwards and upwards!maricesworldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04281289662049345853noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3221154865415072506.post-63156542719885828832010-10-24T10:00:00.002+01:002010-10-24T10:00:02.600+01:00I feel the need for tweed<div style="text-align: justify;">I've found it very difficult squeezing in any crafting lately, you see I'm one of those people who can't say no, which inevitably means I have neglected my poor blog whilst suffering terribly from 'crafting' withdrawals. And so to correct this I managed to throw caution to the wind yesterday and made my 2nd tweed bag. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

I hate throwing things out, so I have a drawer with every - and I mean <em>every scrap</em> I've been left with. Each bit loved SO much I can't bare to throw it out. Needless to say the drawer is full, no that's an understatement, it's bulging to the point of being crushed within an inch of it's life.<br />
<br />
Most recent I have been left with grey fleece scraps from making the new <a href="http://marices-world.blogspot.com/2010/09/hotties-are-back-0.html">hot water bottle covers</a>. So after some careful cutting I made this...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TKB6VKsYn5I/AAAAAAAAAks/NWI64-J2gNE/s1600/DSC01462.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="275" px="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TKB6VKsYn5I/AAAAAAAAAks/NWI64-J2gNE/s320/DSC01462.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">A cosy fleece flower for my hair. Okay, so it doesn't <em>exactly</em> keep my head warm but it sure looks like it does. It's time for me to pack away all the flimsy, floaty summer accessories and get out the winter woolies - yeah! As some of you will know I'm a hat person so it's my favorite time of year. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">The true fleece colour is closest to the above flower. Not quite sure what has happened to the two photos below, they've gone a shade of blue? </div><div align="justify" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TJzwr8Jh0PI/AAAAAAAAAkM/a8FNSvEf5C8/s1600/DSC01396.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="166" px="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TJzwr8Jh0PI/AAAAAAAAAkM/a8FNSvEf5C8/s200/DSC01396.JPG" width="200" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TJzwkt7ooFI/AAAAAAAAAkI/LY4KogVqRxU/s1600/DSC01397.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="161" px="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TJzwkt7ooFI/AAAAAAAAAkI/LY4KogVqRxU/s200/DSC01397.JPG" width="200" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I'm really pleased with how the clip has turned out. I've had a few lovely comments from people too - which is always nice. As I've dark brown hair, the grey stands out well, also it's my 'colour of the moment'. I go through phases of favourite colours. Last time it was turquoise, which goes rather well when teamed with grey, so I'm not completely colourless ha ha.</div>maricesworldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04281289662049345853noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3221154865415072506.post-79919036371004597342010-09-24T19:09:00.000+01:002010-09-24T19:09:05.974+01:00Tooth Fairy Pocket<div style="text-align: justify;">After lots and lots of nagging from my lovely 'little worlds', I have <em>finally</em> made both of them a little felt tooth pocket. The Tooth Fairy has already visited Miss World 8 times now. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRYzrmNhMbXQPpl9mt9IW8xe__Lp8mfCLjz6oSWUizQiTU5IZq787fC0_Wpd2Fd1x54Ux_RsoIeQ9aK1niT8tdpWBEHReLisITPGcnfZ78R2QGj-o5nxzOeaZ6RMfg7cve-Xvk5rdQn0Y/s1600/DSC01402.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="196" px="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRYzrmNhMbXQPpl9mt9IW8xe__Lp8mfCLjz6oSWUizQiTU5IZq787fC0_Wpd2Fd1x54Ux_RsoIeQ9aK1niT8tdpWBEHReLisITPGcnfZ78R2QGj-o5nxzOeaZ6RMfg7cve-Xvk5rdQn0Y/s200/DSC01402.JPG" width="200" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">On one occasion Miss World had cared for her pearly white all day and had placed it under her pillow, with great excitement, however her little brother was extremely curious and took the tooth to play with, managing to loose it - much distress followed as you can imagine, however the clever fairy used her magic to find the missing tooth, well at least we think she must have, as a shiny coin was left that night.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TJzj8x2K0bI/AAAAAAAAAjw/xJwfv33XD3s/s1600/DSC01405.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="168" px="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TJzj8x2K0bI/AAAAAAAAAjw/xJwfv33XD3s/s200/DSC01405.JPG" width="200" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Another time the Tooth Fairy was SO busy she didn't manage to collect Miss World's tooth but did leave a coin and a lovely teeny, tiny, hand written note of explanation and apologies the following night. Mr World is yet to embark on his relationship with the Tooth Fairy, so fingers crossed his one won't be so absent minded ;0)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin3CPg1GZ4YxRYi6su_DFmUfSMZo5PjVxCFz8mcbUO71aXZGTojNZQ6_-bTcS7Dhw6snW3tso6lm-2e69l_vi6LKU-6r8_MwItAhUW8DSTm-acEFX4bfU708QtlLvZX_BbDWd8L2oG1kw/s1600/DSC01399.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="158" px="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin3CPg1GZ4YxRYi6su_DFmUfSMZo5PjVxCFz8mcbUO71aXZGTojNZQ6_-bTcS7Dhw6snW3tso6lm-2e69l_vi6LKU-6r8_MwItAhUW8DSTm-acEFX4bfU708QtlLvZX_BbDWd8L2oG1kw/s200/DSC01399.JPG" width="200" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">As you can see I made the pockets from felt, 14cm long by 5.5cm wide. Stitched together using embroidery thread and a little ribbon and button attached.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TJzkOG0NV9I/AAAAAAAAAj4/WOt2YckgrqM/s1600/DSC01400.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" px="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TJzkOG0NV9I/AAAAAAAAAj4/WOt2YckgrqM/s200/DSC01400.JPG" width="183" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The pink pocket looks squint but I assure you it's just the photo - honest!. Needless to say I've been asked to make a few more. Why not have a go yourself, would make a great present - especially with Christmas coming up. I'd love to see what designs you come up with.</div>maricesworldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04281289662049345853noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3221154865415072506.post-34460352104847421272010-09-07T11:37:00.000+01:002010-09-07T11:37:05.674+01:00Hotties are back ;0)<div style="text-align: justify;">As much as I love making bags, it is SO nice to have a change of scenery. I've been making my hot water bottles again. This year though I have got a couple of new designs - so far! I make them out of gorgeous soft grey fleece, which is stretchy too, so your hot water bottle is nice and snug. I find it very therapeutic sewing blanket stitch, I think it gives the cover a real old fashioned, cosy, homely feel. Here's a sneak peak before they head for Folksy. What do you think?</div><div style="text-align: center;">Introducing ... <span style="font-size: large;">'Wishing on a Star'</span><span style="font-size: small;">...</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

I mostly use them on the cards I make, and large ones always make great centres for fabric brooches. I was partnered with Ina from The Netherlands. Ina doesn't have a blog but is on <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ina1992/">flickr</a>. She is a very talented lady, she does quilting, cross-stitch and sewing. Here's the lovely buttons I received.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/THUHcHLM-fI/AAAAAAAAAiU/6Pu0ICcx7dc/s1600/DSC01301.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" ox="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/THUHcHLM-fI/AAAAAAAAAiU/6Pu0ICcx7dc/s320/DSC01301.JPG" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">I'm loving the turquoise flower power button in the middle, also the little pink rose. All of Ina's buttons have interesting texture and designs. Here's the buttons I sent Ina.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/THUHgOo3t-I/AAAAAAAAAic/PWznEe69W6c/s1600/DSC01102.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" ox="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/THUHgOo3t-I/AAAAAAAAAic/PWznEe69W6c/s320/DSC01102.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">Time flies when you're having fun eh! Yes, I can confirm that is true. The past 3 weeks have flown in. We went to visit family on the Isle of Skye. It was fantastic to get away and recharge the batteries. Where we stay there is no phone signal - absolute bliss, and I never turned on the computer once. Sorry to anyone who did miss me but I SO enjoyed not having to answer to anyone or anything. While on holiday though I couldn't resist buying some fabric from <a href="http://www.ragamuffinonline.co.uk/Initial/Story_fs.htm">Ragamuffin</a> in Armadale. They were selling of Shetland Tweed for charity and running a competition, on their <a href="http://ragamuffinloves.blogspot.com/">blog</a>, to see what their customer made with the tweed. Naturally I made a handbag, as I'm obsessed with making them at the moment. I love buying presents far more than receiving. As a child I was hopeless at keeping secrets, regarding presents, but through age I guess I've managed to keep tight lipped although it is still proving very difficult for me. I just get SO excited I want to blurt it out. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><em>What I'd Love.co.uk</em> allows you to create numerous lists, and has an added feature of password protect, handy for Christmas lists. You can use it for birthdays, weddings ... anything at all, you decide. Once you have your list ready, you can e-mail it to all your friends and family. It even shows the pictures of the items you've chosen. Just think no more unwanted gifts, wasted time or money. What better way to shop, knowing the gift you buy is already wanted and loved. And what's better is there's no charge for the service. If someone buys you something from your list, it will be removed to prevent duplicate presents and creates a thank you for you to send. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

No? Well I have, on quite a few occasions, just a pity that the 'luck' doesn't fall with it!. Recently I was in town on a beautiful sunny day when I was hit with the unfriendly fire, right down my cheek and neatly landed, down my t-shirt, inbetween my boobs. I had to ask Mr World if a bird just poo'd on me as I wasn't quite sure just what had happened, it was all so quick. He looked at me and we both burst out laughing, Yip, it was bulls eye. I was just so thankful that it never went all over my hair or clothes, yes it was disgusting having poo down my chest but it was a hard lump, as apposed to the runny version, so ....okay I know - enough poo talk, you get the gist. Just to add though... yes, I did play the lottery that evening, and no, I never won anything, nor did I even match one number, so was I lucky having a bird poo on me? I think not.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/32/House_sparrow04.jpg/220px-House_sparrow04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" bx="true" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/32/House_sparrow04.jpg/220px-House_sparrow04.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Today's Tip</div><br />
<span style="background-color: yellow;">Bird Droppings</span>: to clean them off outdoors, simply spray it with full strength vinegar and wipe off, or spray onto cloth first then wipe.<br />
<br />
Whilst you have the vinegar out why not <span style="background-color: yellow;">clean your plastic garden furniture</span>, spray with the vinegar and this will remove mildew and any build up of dirt. The vinegar should also prevent the mildew reappearing for a while.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Hope you have a lucky day ;0)</div>maricesworldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04281289662049345853noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3221154865415072506.post-53736484064533432652010-08-02T09:19:00.002+01:002010-08-03T11:07:54.361+01:00And the winner is ...The winner of the Nintendo Pouch Giveaway is ....<br />

Although I may start very soon, but not because the kids are playing up, I've discovered these strange long, thick, curly, white hairs which Mr World described as fishing wire - nice eh! My 'normal' hair is long, brown and wavy... these <strike>little</strike> long buggers are multiplying and fast. I liked my white hairs when they were well hidden under my fringe however on finding one of the fishing wires attached to my head, springing straight up, I soon realised they are all over. Hmm, am I bothered? I really don't know. I suffer from 'know one can tell my age, or even guess close'. You see I still get asked for I.D. when buying alcohol (so does that mean I look 17?) I went to the bookies a couple of weeks ago (to place a bet for some else, not me honest!) and was refused as I didn't appear to be 25, and yet last weekend one of Mr World's friends I was introduced to, although he knew Mr World was younger than me, placed me at around 40! I'd like to think that I have a youthful look but with a wise old head on my shoulders lol ;0)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgggjlijxGt1XsnR2INsFfzmQlrncMMzJpZM4-JJPTQEgWs7lJ0IC1vIDKQ2XpJZJhiUl7PDvY1PO8m_XGNZylduUymHGTCsO05e01DUw2wvL2AMDzswTHjigf48fRKKT9YTryGkVJKd_Y/s1600/DSC01145a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="216" hw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgggjlijxGt1XsnR2INsFfzmQlrncMMzJpZM4-JJPTQEgWs7lJ0IC1vIDKQ2XpJZJhiUl7PDvY1PO8m_XGNZylduUymHGTCsO05e01DUw2wvL2AMDzswTHjigf48fRKKT9YTryGkVJKd_Y/s320/DSC01145a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Back to the summer holidays... <span style="background-color: yellow;">Today's tip is a boredom buster. Make a board game.</span> It doesn't take as long as you'd think and the only limit is your imagination. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-t2TvbKqCbJ4GFDYceD4d21uclJXhxx2b6ejtuNsLQLfWelU6uYnqRDHabOZK2Ptg_NxNsZ5cIyzZOSjpNNHtaWz6ue7QBg_XCF2256Rwcy4a31ZHkzaJ0vl3yTYoU4_rysfnd7dlNQs/s1600/DSC01151.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="138" hw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-t2TvbKqCbJ4GFDYceD4d21uclJXhxx2b6ejtuNsLQLfWelU6uYnqRDHabOZK2Ptg_NxNsZ5cIyzZOSjpNNHtaWz6ue7QBg_XCF2256Rwcy4a31ZHkzaJ0vl3yTYoU4_rysfnd7dlNQs/s320/DSC01151.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">We started with an A3 size of paper, if you don't have a large piece then you could use a sheet of wrapping, wall paper or tape 4x A4 pages together. While we were having a chat about what we would like to have in our game, we designed the counters. Miss World had a good idea to use buttons on them, gives little fingers something to grab onto when counting out their turn. Once you have the counters you can draw the squares to fit your counters.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYB4sHxVVIoZWhFlXZ-RGz8pnPQNMhqaNZyCS2m568j2EQCxzodoMO-CXGNU7mQK9NYP1R_3v_qu1EDSGWADZHVp9q42GB_xNrhM3UK7l8Hui9s84Ptx7NYOmIAcYV3NaUwWM8WeKC_jk/s1600/DSC01148.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYB4sHxVVIoZWhFlXZ-RGz8pnPQNMhqaNZyCS2m568j2EQCxzodoMO-CXGNU7mQK9NYP1R_3v_qu1EDSGWADZHVp9q42GB_xNrhM3UK7l8Hui9s84Ptx7NYOmIAcYV3NaUwWM8WeKC_jk/s320/DSC01148.JPG" /></a></div>We decided a house for the start, going over a river, through a play park and ice cream was the finish. Not wanting the kids to get bored too quickly we didn't make a plan, just dived straight in and started drawing, colouring and used some stamps for quickness too. <br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGaEglK4QRRh5a-j8v_P-6Lej6hguX4tJYxzAycm7tYvjZSQiOVlLknRbqksamxA-vQ5ZRI2-LOxhEMAr4w9sJ2NyJeOm12GVKSqABP0ZLd5LiDBy8Jyhxl_yfYghaAI9MWhNHDzbuKVM/s1600/DSC01150.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGaEglK4QRRh5a-j8v_P-6Lej6hguX4tJYxzAycm7tYvjZSQiOVlLknRbqksamxA-vQ5ZRI2-LOxhEMAr4w9sJ2NyJeOm12GVKSqABP0ZLd5LiDBy8Jyhxl_yfYghaAI9MWhNHDzbuKVM/s320/DSC01150.JPG" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Making forfeit cards was a good idea too as these can be changed or added too. I found having 32 squares keeps it short enough to hold young ones attention. If you don't have a dice available either use an old box or cut out a hexagon from card and push a cocktail stick through the middle using it as a spinner.<br />

<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Take the remaining two pieces of fabric. Line up alongside the made pouch, you want the front flap to be able to fold over in between the two straps, so you'll need to trim a bit off. Don't throw them out when you they run out as it depends on what they are being used to power. For example when your Wii controllers begin to stop working there could be enough power left in the battery to run a clock for a few months. Although remember not to mix old and new batteries together though, as they can ignite, rupture or leak... nasty stuff!! :0(</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://d200fahol9mbkt.cloudfront.net/item/3364281/stripey_clock_003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" hw="true" src="http://d200fahol9mbkt.cloudfront.net/item/3364281/stripey_clock_003.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><em>Hand Felted Wall Clock by <a href="http://www.folksy.com/shops/kellyconnordesigns">Kelly Connor Designs</a> at Folksy.com</em><br />
</div></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Well worth a try and remember not to put batteries in with the household rubbish. They need to be disposed of correctly, as they contain elements which are hazardous to the environment. Whilst the exact chemical make-up varies from type to type, most batteries contain heavy metals, which are the main cause for environmental concern. When disposed of incorrectly, these heavy metals may leak into the ground when the battery casing corrodes. This can contribute to soil and water pollution and endanger wildlife. Cadmium, for example, can be toxic to aquatic invertebrates and can bio-accumulate in fish, which damages ecosystems and makes them unfit for human consumption. Some batteries, such as button cell batteries, also contain mercury, which has similarly hazardous properties. So save our poor wee planet and do the right thing, dispose of batteries correctly. <br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">Having constructed the pouch, it's time to make the lining. You'll need a piece of material, bigger than twice the size of your pouch. I don't use measurements for the lining, I make them to suit. Fold you material in half, right sides together. Place your pouch along the fold, saves stitching another seam, and draw the outline. Stitch along the outline, making sure you leave a large gap at the bottom, this is so once you have attached the lining, you can pull the pouch through the gap, and you're pouch won't be inside out.</div><br />

</div><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">Snip off the excess material. Place the pouch inside the lining, right side of lining are next the right sides of pouch. Tuck in the straps, now this may be rather tight as the straps are quite long and the pouch is small but if you don't tuck them in correctly you won't be able to turn your pouch the right way after stitching and /or the straps will be stitched inside and you can't use them. What to do is push in the straps and then make sure the straps (where they are attached to the pouch) are tucked down neatly on either side. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TDwgQVlQb2I/AAAAAAAAAeM/Flguuezias4/s1600/DSC01066.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" rw="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TDwgQVlQb2I/AAAAAAAAAeM/Flguuezias4/s200/DSC01066.JPG" width="200" /></a></div><br />

</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">We are going to sew along the top of the pouch to the lining, but miss out the sides where the straps are so they can be pulled through after turning. Once sewn, you can turn the pouch through the gap we left, and push lining into the pouch, as we used the pouch as a template it should be a perfect fit.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TDwkj3zYcTI/AAAAAAAAAek/Eoq69MXav94/s1600/DSC01068.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="98" rw="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TDwkj3zYcTI/AAAAAAAAAek/Eoq69MXav94/s200/DSC01068.JPG" width="200" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TDwkshJtuYI/AAAAAAAAAes/YBMi5zyCWmc/s1600/DSC01069.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="143" rw="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TDwkshJtuYI/AAAAAAAAAes/YBMi5zyCWmc/s200/DSC01069.JPG" width="200" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">The two strap edges of the lining are needing attached to the pouch. Fold the lining inwards, to make a neat edge. I iron them down to keep them in place, instead of using pins. Now whilst sewing around the entire top of the pouch, we will incorporate the two 'strap edges' still not stitched.</div><br />

I'm sure I'm not alone in being frustrated with how long you can remain on hold, or in a queue, before you get to speak to somebody, never mind being passed about from one department to another. Although I am always very (maybe sometimes overly) polite, as it does get you a long way when having to speak to operators, and you'll be amazed at what they'll do for you if you treat them with respect, no one like to be abused. My father always said to get anywhere in life 'kill them with kindness'. Now I'm not quite sure how that comes across to you, but he said it with good intention, I guess it's an alternative to manners costs nothing.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I hate how all the telephone numbers are 0870 or 0845 numbers, which aren't exactly cheap, and if they had an 01... number I could get it free in my call plan. So I thought I'd let you know a way to find out alternative numbers either 01 and some even have 0800 free phone numbers.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div align="center" style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="background-color: yellow; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">SAY<span style="color: red;">NO</span>TO<span style="color: red;">0870</span>.COM</span></strong></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">You can search through a website called <a href="http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php">SAY NO TO 0870</a>. One of the Companies I looked up was for the catalogue I use. I simply typed in the Company name and it gave me alternative 01 number and a FREE phone number, and all the companies various listed phone numbers. Another bonus is that you don't have to register with this site, it's instant and free - oh how I love that word. Aah I'm a very happy bunny now ;0)</div>maricesworldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04281289662049345853noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3221154865415072506.post-41031266991907638932010-07-09T11:07:00.001+01:002010-07-09T11:12:30.328+01:00Folksy Friday<div style="background: #f7f7ce; padding-bottom: 6px; padding-left: 9px; padding-right: 9px; padding-top: 6px;"><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

Through gritted teeth I let them buy one. Argh! I swore I wouldn't let them have game consoles, however there are rules to when and where they can have them, and I'm SO proud of them for not grumbling or questioning the rules. They've recently been on holiday and I wanted to make them each a pouch for carrying their DSI's in. Now this is the first tutorial I have written so please forgive me if I've not been clear enough or on the other hand over explained.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTMY_Su9yOy69_gqw8jhw2TBJtTJ_EDWLE-gK_LSaNOCnGR_waLCK-VDG9kOR9gnvtWOOk9e1-B_iWxdta8LRp9itIxnmsp30hmezZ1LZxLKEiykVK3Qzgv6vOVe2vjeA605VQT38YI-o/s1600/DSC01079.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" rw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTMY_Su9yOy69_gqw8jhw2TBJtTJ_EDWLE-gK_LSaNOCnGR_waLCK-VDG9kOR9gnvtWOOk9e1-B_iWxdta8LRp9itIxnmsp30hmezZ1LZxLKEiykVK3Qzgv6vOVe2vjeA605VQT38YI-o/s320/DSC01079.JPG" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;">I started with using a fleece, which Master World had outgrown, and some interfacing to stiffen the fabric. Now I don't know if there's a right or wrong way to do things but this is how I constructed the pouch. Cut 2 pieces of interfacing 19cm x 13cm and 1qty 11cm x 13cm. I ironed these onto the fabric and then cut out.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TDNeaCyJQhI/AAAAAAAAAbc/mr3JBgrw40g/s1600/DSC01030.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="168" rw="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TDNeaCyJQhI/AAAAAAAAAbc/mr3JBgrw40g/s200/DSC01030.JPG" width="200" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TDNgAssK8TI/AAAAAAAAAbs/-noEksi9W2M/s1600/DSC01028.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="101" rw="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PX8HFNeeZss/TDNgAssK8TI/AAAAAAAAAbs/-noEksi9W2M/s200/DSC01028.JPG" width="200" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: justify;"><br />
